Markel is seeking a Senior Business Improvement Specialist to lead high-impact transformation initiatives across our International operations outside the Americas, driving process excellence, efficiency, and measurable benefits to support our ambitious growth strategy.

You will work with senior stakeholders to shape projects, champion data-driven improvement, and apply Lean Six Sigma and automation where appropriate, contributing to the Change Delivery function across regions.

Qualifications

• Experience leading cross-functional improvement projects.
• Ability to measure benefits and promote them across the organisation.
• Lean Six Sigma Black Belt with data-driven decision making.
• Strong problem solving and root-cause analysis skills.
• Able to work independently on projects and influence senior stakeholders.
• Insurance industry experience, London Market is useful.

Responsibilities

• Shape improvement projects aligned to strategic priorities with the Head of Business Improvement.
• Lead cross-functional and cross-divisional process improvement initiatives, including AI/automation.
• Engage senior leaders across International to scope opportunities and deliverables.
• Develop the Business Improvement practitioner network to raise capabilities.
• Contribute to the process improvement framework with governance, KPIs, and templates.
• Support embedding process performance metrics across live operations.
• Assist the Change Delivery Team with process design on strategic developments.
• Promote the value of business improvement across the organisation.
