Job summary

Airwallex is seeking a Staff Optimization Consultant to join the Merchant Services team. You will collaborate with Account Managers, Product Teams, and Data Scientists to uncover opportunities, optimize payments, and boost transaction success across our global merchant base.

You bring 5+ years in payments, deep knowledge of ecommerce payments and regulatory environments (PSD2/PSD3), and strong analytical chops with BI tools like Looker, Power BI, Tableau, or Databricks.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in the payments space, ecommerce processing, and optimization.
• Knowledge of card network rules and local payment methods (PSD2/PSD3).
• Proficient in BI tools and storytelling with data.
• Excellent written and verbal communication for C-suite audiences.
• Thrives in fast-moving, high-growth environments with initiative.

Responsibilities

• Uncover Insights: identify high-impact opportunities to boost payment performance across merchant base.
• Design the Playbook: develop and refine standard methodologies for payment optimization.
• Merchants engagement: lead deep-dive discussions with enterprise clients on payment performance.
• Empower Teams: train Sales and Account Management on optimization tactics.
• Co‑Create Optimization Levers: collaborate with Product, Engineering, and Data Science to build AI/ML driven techniques.
• Shape the Roadmap: synthesize client feedback to influence core product roadmaps.
• Connect the Ecosystem: liaise with card issuers and networks to optimize the payment pipeline.
