Job summary

Capital One Europe is seeking a Senior Director to lead International Payments Network Compliance, reporting to the VP and CCO, with responsibility for regulatory relationships, risk management and strategic direction across global operations.

In this hybrid London role, you will build and mentor a team, drive program improvements, and partner with regulators and merchants to ensure compliant growth across 200+ countries, leveraging Capital One’s technology and data capabilities.

Qualifications

• Payments risk experience with understanding of global networks, regulations and third-party processors.
• Experience building, motivating and leading high-performing teams.
• Experience managing regulatory requirements in a complex finance organization and maintaining regulatory relationships.
• Experience delivering creative solutions and leading teams through change.
• Ability to formulate a strategic vision for a compliance organization and motivate execution.
• Strong business judgment with understanding of payments schemes and industry trends.
• Proven ability to influence peers and senior leaders using clear analysis.
• Curiosity, self-motivation and strong communication skills across stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Lead maintenance and evolution of the compliance risk management function for the international network operations.
• Act as the authority on applicable compliance expectations, laws, and regulatory changes for international network and merchant services.
• Promote a culture of compliant risk management and guide corrective actions when issues arise.
• Collaborate with partners and support groups to keep network and merchant services within risk appetite.
• Interface with regulators and support interactions with regulatory bodies globally.
• Monitor remediation plans for internal or regulatory findings within the area of responsibility.
• Build and lead a team of compliance professionals to implement and manage the international program.
• Coach and develop others through leadership and emotional intelligence.
• Provide strategic guidance on payments ecosystem and emerging technologies and trends.
• Oversee Front Line execution of compliance-related decisions.
