Job summary

IT WORLD LIMITED in London is seeking an experienced SRE/Observability Engineer to champion the adoption of our observability platform and support teams with production monitoring and incident management. You will help ensure scalable, available systems and contribute to change and release processes.

The role emphasizes hands-on work with Grafana and related tools, collaboration in a global agile environment, and mentoring other SREs to improve reliability and performance across the organization.

Qualifications

• 2+ years with Grafana/admin in a medium/large enterprise environment.
• 2+ years exposure to Linux OS and day-to-day troubleshooting.
• Experience with Python or Ansible.
• Production support experience: incident, change, release management, on-call, user engagement.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Good analytical and troubleshooting abilities with mature judgement.
• Basic understanding of cloud platforms.
• Familiarity with CI/CD tools such as GitLab, Jenkins, Ansible, Nexus.
• Team player with collaborative mindset.

Responsibilities

• Champion observability adoption across the group and support teams.
• Understand tools/frameworks providing observability and assist teams with usage queries.
• Act as custodian of production environments and maintain robust, scalable systems.
• Prevent incidents and perform RCA to minimize downtime and recurrence.
• Manage changes and releases to production in a reliable manner.
• Respond quickly to alerts and implement preventive measures.
• Prioritize requests and triage alerts to maintain stability and user satisfaction.
• Engage with users to provide guidance and a positive experience.
• Collaborate in a global agile team and participate in planning and reviews.
• Build and maintain scalable monitoring solutions for global infrastructure.
• Contribute to architectural decisions influencing observability platform direction.
• Mentor other SREs and share knowledge across the team.
• Leverage AI tools with guardrails to improve operational efficiency.
