Job summary

BioLegend, Inc. in Llantrisant, UK, seeks a Global Commodity Specialist (Metals – Instruments) to lead metals sourcing strategy for diagnostics and life science instrumentation, and to partner with manufacturing, R&D and business leaders.

You will develop global supplier networks, drive cost-reduction programs, and support new product introductions across the instrument supply chain.

Travel internationally as needed; strong contracting, SAP/ERP familiarity preferred.

Qualifications

BS in Engineering, Supply Chain or related engineering discipline.
Prior expertise with metals commodity sourcing.
Contracting/supply agreement experience.

Responsibilities

Develop the global preferred supplier network and drive material productivity projects.
Partner with site procurement to drive supplier performance and resiliency across the instrument supply chain.
Identify key suppliers, evaluate and negotiate for cost savings.
Define risk concepts and drive risk-reduction activities including alternative sourcing.
Organize regular business reviews and rate suppliers on KPIs (performance, quality, cost, roadmap).
Support R&D and manufacturing through pilot to full-scale production and M&A due diligence.
Compile spend data by site, supplier and technology to recommend optimization.
Maintain deep understanding of fluidics commodity and evaluate alternatives.
