Job summary

SimWest Engineering Recruitment is seeking a Mechanical Fitter / Installation Engineer for a role based in the North West of England, with substantial travel across the UK, Europe and worldwide. You will install, assemble and mechanically complete industrial equipment at customer sites, spending 80–90% of time on travel and site work, and 10–20% in the Manchester workshop.

The role requires hands-on mechanical fitting, reading engineering drawings, and experience with large assemblies.

Qualifications

• Strong practical mechanical skills with industrial machinery experience.
• Experience with special purpose machinery, production or packaging equipment is a plus.
• Able to read engineering drawings and work from plans.

Responsibilities

• Install and assemble industrial machinery through to mechanical completion.
• Fit, align and position equipment using drawings and hand/power tools.
• Work with engineers, contractors and customer teams on site.
• Maintain safety standards and complete site documentation and expenses.
