Job summary

CooperVision is seeking a Senior Learning and Development Manager, Global Manufacturing, to partner with senior leaders and shape learning strategies that boost performance, capability, and workforce sustainability across packaging and distribution.

The role balances strategic consulting with hands-on oversight, aligning learning with quality and safety standards, and influencing delivery across internal and external providers.

Qualifications

• Strong expertise in learning and development strategy and capability building.
• Proven experience partnering with senior leaders in operational or regulated environments.
• Ability to influence without direct authority in complex, matrixed organisations.
• Strong analytical capability to identify skill gaps and measure impact.
• Excellent facilitation, consulting, and stakeholder management skills.
• Solid understanding of quality, safety, and compliance-driven learning.
• Project and programme oversight including planning, prioritisation, and risk management.
• Extensive experience in L&D, talent, or organisational capability roles.
• Experience partnering with Operations or technical functions.
• Experience influencing learning strategy at senior leadership level.
• Bachelor’s degree in relevant discipline; CIPD qualifications.

Responsibilities

• Partner with senior leaders to understand business strategy and capability needs.
• Act as trusted advisor on workforce capability and development investment.
• Lead capability analysis across leadership, technical, safety, quality, and professional domains.
• Shape learning roadmaps supporting operational readiness and transformation.
• Oversee design, deployment and evaluation of learning solutions with internal and external providers.
• Collaborate with HR, Operations, and SMEs to embed learning in daily work.
• Establish success metrics linking learning to performance outcomes.
• Guide governance of delivery across providers without owning training teams.
