Job summary

UTAC is actively seeking a motivated IT Infrastructure Systems Engineer to join the IT team in the UK. You will deliver 2nd/3rd line support for core infrastructure, including emails, virtualisation, storage, and network services.

You will collaborate with senior engineers on infrastructure projects and adopt emerging technologies to improve resilience and efficiency. You will lead on deployments, assist with migrations, and maintain documentation.

Qualifications

1–2 years in 2nd/3rd line IT infrastructure roles.
Hands-on with virtualization (VMware, Hyper-V).
Experience with storage platforms (Dell EMC, NetApp).
Familiarity with backup and DR concepts.
Experience with Microsoft 365 / Exchange Online / Exchange Server.
Networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, VLANs, routing, firewalls).

Responsibilities

Support and maintain virtualization platforms (VMware vSphere, Hyper-V, Morpheus).
Perform capacity planning, resource optimisation, and patch management.
Storage administration of SAN/NAS, provisioning, performance tuning, and monitoring.
Manage LAN/WAN, switches, routers, firewalls, and wireless networks.
Monitor network performance, troubleshoot connectivity issues, and maintain security.
Lead infrastructure projects and upgrades; provide 2nd/3rd line support.
Maintain system documentation, diagrams, and SOPs.
Manage AD security groups and GPOs.
