Job summary

TavasTechs is seeking an IT Infrastructure Engineer (L3) to join their Portishead team. You will deliver high‑level 3rd line support, lead design and delivery of technical projects, and manage networks, cloud deployments, and security across client environments.

The role emphasizes Azure and AWS deployments, firewall and security policy configuration, and business continuity planning within a fast‑paced service desk setting.

Qualifications

• Server administration across Windows Server 2012/2016/2019/2022.
• Active Directory/Entra full administration and management.
• DNS & DHCP configuration and troubleshooting.
• Azure and AWS deployment & management.
• Cyber security practices: firewall configuration and ISO/Cyber Essentials compliance.

Responsibilities

• Provide expert 3rd line IT support to clients across multiple IT disciplines.
• Lead design, planning, and delivery of technical projects.
• Manage and maintain computer networks for seamless connectivity.
• Implement and administer cloud deployments within Azure and AWS.
• Configure and manage firewalls, security policies, and DMZ environments.

About The Opportunity:

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced IT Infrastructure Engineer to be part of a dynamic and fast-paced environment. You will be working within the Service Desk team to provide high-level 3rd Line IT Support to clients while also leading the design and implementation of IT projects. Your role will involve everything from network management to cloud solutions, security enhancements, and system administration.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide expert 3rd Line IT support to clients across a range of IT disciplines.
• Lead the design, planning, and delivery of technical projects.
• Manage and maintain computer networks to ensure seamless connectivity.
• Implement and administer cloud deployments within Azure and AWS.
• Configure and manage firewalls, security policies, and DMZ environments.
• Administer Microsoft Exchange and Office 365 environments.
• Oversee data backup solutions, business continuity, and disaster recovery strategies.
• Implement network security measures to protect against cyber threats.
• Troubleshoot LAN/WAN networks and utilise tools like IPerf and WireShark.
• Manage and configure network switches, VLANs, and WiFi solutions.
• Ensure IT systems comply with security best practices, including Cyber Essentials and ISO standards.

Your Experience and Skills:

• Server Administration - Windows Server 2012, 2016, 2019, 2022.
• Active Directory & Entra - Full administration and management.
• DNS & DHCP - Configuration and troubleshooting.
• Cloud Solutions - Azure and AWS deployment & management.
• Cyber Security - Network protection, firewall configuration, and compliance with security standards.
• Network Troubleshooting - VLAN setup, switch management, LAN/WAN troubleshooting.
• Virtualisation - Experience with VMware / Hyper‑V.
• IT Project Delivery - Proven ability to manage and implement technical projects.
• Compliance & Best Practices - Understanding of Cyber Essentials, PCI, ISO, and other security standards.

Desirable Qualifications (or willingness to work towards):

• Microsoft Certifications (MCP, MCSA).
