Job summary

DS Smith is seeking an experienced IT Business Analyst to join our Recycling division within IT. You will connect business stakeholders and technology teams to translate requirements into effective IT solutions that drive operational efficiency and business value across EMEA.

You will collaborate with IT partners, process owners, and external partners to shape the technology roadmap for Recycling, prioritise business requirements, and deliver fit-for-purpose solutions that support business

Qualifications

Experience in business analysis, including requirements gathering and process mapping.
Ability to translate business requirements into clear IT solutions with traceability and prioritisation.
Previous experience in SAP or ERP project delivery.
Strong experience in business process analysis and data flow mapping.
Experience supporting solution assessments, RFPs, and RFQs.
Knowledge of business case development and investment analysis.
Experience planning and facilitating workshops with a range of stakeholders.
Structured, analytical and problem-solving mindset with a clear delivery approach.

Responsibilities

Partner with business leaders, process owners, and end users to gather, document, and prioritise requirements.
Analysing and mapping business processes to identify opportunities for optimisation, standardisation, and automation.
Translating business needs into clear, structured, and testable functional requirements and specifications.
Collaborating with solution architects, developers, and third-party providers to design and implement technology solutions aligned to business goals.
Supporting the evaluation and selection of new technologies while ensuring alignment with enterprise architecture and security standards.
Facilitating workshops, requirements sessions, and solution design discussions across multiple European business units.
Contributing to project planning, resource allocation, and delivery activities.
Coordinating and supporting user acceptance testing (UAT) to ensure solutions meet agreed business requirements.
Supporting change management activities through stakeholder engagement, communications, training materials, and user guidance.
Assisting in the development of business cases, technology roadmaps, and business analysis best practices.
