Job summary

Experian Software Solutions (ESS) seeks a Head of Software Engineering to lead the ID&F global organisation, combining people leadership, technology modernisation, and delivery accountability. You will travel weekly to our London office to align with senior stakeholders and drive high-quality execution across globally distributed teams.

Focus on building AI-enabled engineering practices, governance, and scalable solutions while partnering with product, operations and business units.

Qualifications

• Strong people leadership experience building and coaching global engineering teams.
• Proficient in .NET, AWS, EKS, DevOps and modern deployment practices. Java desirable.
• Experience using AI tools and driving adoption across engineering teams.
• Experience working within a secure development environment.
• Ability to influence decisions with data-driven approaches.
• Culture of innovation, continuous improvement and learning.

Responsibilities

• Build and lead globally distributed engineering teams with clear direction and accountability.
• Translate strategic objectives into executable delivery plans with measurable outcomes.
• Champion AI-native engineering culture across development, delivery, and operations.
• Provide technical leadership on Java, .NET, AWS, EKS, Claude and Cursor technologies.
• Drive technology modernisation and simplify legacy environments.
• Partner with product, engineering and operations to align priorities and remove blockers.
• Ensure governance, security, compliance, and risk standards guide decisions.
• Own workforce planning, talent strategy and leadership development.
• Manage budgets, vendors and resourcing; represent engineering in senior forums.
