Job summary

Fastmarkets is seeking a Global Freight Editor to build a new freight reporting and pricing capability within its editorial function. The role leads a team, defines the pricing roadmap, and delivers freight content that strengthens pricing and customer value.

The editor will recruit and develop talent, establish methodologies, and maintain IOSCO-compliant price assessments across global markets. This is a strategic, leadership role shaping the freight franchise.

Qualifications

• Deep knowledge of global freight markets, routes and pricing drivers.
• Proven ability to build a new editorial or pricing capability.
• Experience in leading reporters across multiple offices and time zones.
• Solid understanding of price reporting and IOSCO-compliant methodologies.

Responsibilities

• Build and lead a new global freight reporting team within editorial.
• Develop and implement the freight editorial strategy and pricing roadmap.
• Own freight prices and market intelligence to support derived prices.
• Establish robust processes, coverage, and publishing schedules.
• Ensure IOSCO-compliant price assessments and governance.
• Allocate resources across markets and offices to meet targets.
• Recruit, coach and develop a small freight team as it grows.
• Translate market changes into editorial and pricing priorities.
• Communicate strategy and progress with senior editors and heads.
