Job summary

Sitecore seeks an External Communications Lead to shape and amplify the company’s story across external audiences. This role drives proactive media relations, supports product and corporate storytelling, elevates executive visibility, and runs earned media programs to strengthen Sitecore’s reputation.

The ideal candidate combines knowledge of the digital experience platform, CMS, marketing platforms, or MarTech, with a proven ability to translate complex product innovation into clear narratives.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in global public relations, external communications, or corporate communications.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute external communications strategies to increase awareness of Sitecore, its platform, customer impact, and thought leadership.
• Build and maintain relationships with key journalists, editors, and influencers across business, tech, and MarTech press.
• Lead proactive media outreach around company news, product launches, customer stories, data-driven announcements, and executive commentary.
• Collaborate with corporate communications, product marketing, customer marketing, field marketing, social media, and senior executives to develop differentiated stories and consistent messaging.
• Draft and edit press releases, messaging frameworks, media pitches, Q&As, executive talking points, bylines, blogs, and briefing materials.
• Translate technical topics into concise, relevant stories for external audiences.
• Drive executive visibility opportunities, including media interviews and speaking engagements.
• Manage PR agencies and external partners, including scope, priorities, budget, and results.
• Track, analyse, and report on coverage, message pull-through, and share of voice.
• Support reactive communications and issues management as needed.
