Job summary

TikTok is seeking an experienced export controls counsel to join its Global Legal Compliance team. You will advise cross-functional stakeholders on export controls-related issues, draft and negotiate trade compliance provisions, and lead due diligence for mergers, acquisitions, and investments.

The role requires deep knowledge of the U.S. Export Administration Regulations, strong analytical and communication skills, and the ability to operate in a fast-paced global environment across time zones.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctorate and up-to-date qualifications to practice in a common law jurisdiction.
• Proven export controls compliance experience in law firms or in-house.
• Deep knowledge of the U.S. Export Administration Regulations and related laws.
• Experience with product classifications under the Commerce Control List.

Responsibilities

• Advise stakeholders on export controls-related issues and provide practical solutions.
• Draft and negotiate trade compliance provisions in commercial agreements.
• Lead international trade due diligence for M&A and strategic investments.
• Represent the company before government agencies and manage licensing strategies.
• Develop and maintain export compliance policies and training programs.
• Monitor regulatory changes and assess impacts on operations.
