Job summary

Matchtech is seeking a Customs Compliance Analyst to join a global technology and engineering solutions group in Totnes. You will support import/export activity, manage tariff classifications and ensure regulatory adherence across international operations.

You will work with internal teams, brokers and logistics partners to maintain accurate documentation, drive improvements and minimise compliance risk. Strong knowledge of UK customs is essential.

Qualifications

• Experience in customs compliance and international trade operations.
• Strong understanding of UK customs regulations and trade compliance.
• Knowledge of tariff classification and tariff codes helpful.
• Experience with ERP systems such as IFS is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Ensure import/export shipments comply with applicable regulations and company procedures.
• Prepare, review and maintain customs documentation with accuracy and audit readiness.
• Manage and validate commodity codes (tariff classifications) across products and shipments.
• Support customs brokers and logistics providers with compliant shipping instructions.
• Monitor shipments and clearance activities to minimise delays and disruption.
• Investigate and resolve customs queries, discrepancies and clearance issues.
• Provide guidance to stakeholders across operations and finance on compliance requirements.
• Maintain accurate customs records and support audits and reviews.
