Job summary

Kyowa Kirin International plc invites a Senior Director of Corporate Communications to lead global communications strategy from its Marlow, UK office. You will shape the corporate narrative, manage channels and media relations, and collaborate across regions to protect and elevate the company’s reputation.

The role requires experience with C-suite audiences, crisis planning, and driving high-impact programs across science, DEI, sustainability, and patient access initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in journalism or communications preferred with substantial corporate communications experience.
• Fluent in written and spoken English; Japanese language a plus; global/multi-country experience is ideal.
• Strong understanding of healthcare communications and pharmaceutical industry environment with broad networks.
• Ability to collaborate with internal stakeholders and influence global strategies; experience working with C-suite is essential.
• Experience managing consultants/agencies within a matrix organization.

Responsibilities

• Develop a global Corporate Communications strategy and platform to raise awareness of Kyowa Kirin and its employees among key stakeholders.
• Craft a clear corporate narrative and materials for Kyowa Kirin on the global stage.
• Increase media presence to bolster company reputation and visibility.
• Protect the company reputation by advising internal stakeholders on strategic decisions.
• Lead innovative programs across science, diversity, inclusion, sustainability, and access to medicines.
• Oversee corporate channels including the website and social media; guide crisis and issues response.
• Collaborate with Patient Advocacy and leadership teams to maximize milestones across channels.
• Lead and grow a high-performing communications team with a shared vision.
