Job summary

TNA Solutions, an award-winning automation provider, seeks an experienced Controls Engineer with a software bias to design and implement software for packaging equipment. You will develop PLC-controlled systems (Rockwell/Siemens), create modular software blocks, and work with SCADA/HMI systems, ensuring robust testing and documentation.

You will collaborate with multiple departments, support installation/commissioning globally, and travel to sites to commission first-of-series machines.

Qualifications

• Degree-qualified in software or mechatronics engineering or similar.
• Minimum of 3 years controls experience in a special purpose machine/manufacturing setting.
• Experience with Rockwell and Siemens PLC design & programming.
• Exposure to SCADA such as Wonderware/InTouch and HMI software.
• Industrial communication networks and safety PLC knowledge an advantage.
• Strong technical documentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop control systems in a PLC environment (AB and Siemens).
• Develop modular software blocks for IP protection and rapid deployment.
• Collaborate across departments to transition designs through prototyping and production.
• Provide global technical support and documentation for customers.
• Ensure thorough software testing and record testing methods.
• Contribute innovative ideas in system/software design to maintain market edge.
• Support on-site installation and commissioning, including travel to sites globally.
