Job summary

SC ENGINEERING, a North West-based systems integrator, is seeking a Controls Engineer with strong PLC knowledge to deliver automation, robotics and control projects for major industrial customers.

You will work with major platforms such as Siemens, Rockwell, Mitsubishi, Omron or Schneider, developing PLC software, fault finding, HMI/SCADA, and FAT/commissioning. 5+ years of relevant experience is preferred; permanent, full-time with an on-call rota.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of relevant industrial engineering experience, including controls, automation, electrical maintenance or commissioning.
• Experience with at least one major PLC platform (Siemens, Rockwell, Mitsubishi, Omron or Schneider).
• Strong fault-finding and troubleshooting skills across PLCs, HMIs, drives and instrumentation.

Responsibilities

• PLC software development, modification and testing.
• Fault finding and troubleshooting on live production systems.
• HMI and SCADA development.
• Diagnosing PLC I/O, sensors, drives and instrumentation.
• Electrical and control system fault finding.
• FAT, site installation and commissioning.
• Industrial network configuration and troubleshooting.
• Upgrading and modifying existing control systems.
• Root cause analysis and production optimisation.
• Customer technical support.
