Job summary

Samuel Frank is seeking an experienced Controls Engineer near Gloucester, with a mix of software development, machine support and international commissioning work. The role involves working on bespoke machinery for a global customer base, with overseas travel and a strong focus on safety and high engineering standards.

You will use Allen Bradley/Rockwell PLCs, Studio 5000 and Kinetix motion systems, with Siemens TIA Portal advantageous.

Qualifications

• Experience in special purpose machinery, systems integration or automated manufacturing environments.
• Strong preference for Allen Bradley / Rockwell PLC experience.
• Experience with PLC and motion system programming.
• Ability to work in a global, client-facing, fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Support machine builds, commissioning activities and customer installations.
• Travel internationally 4–5 times per year, typically 2–3 weeks per trip.
• Collaborate with customers and field teams to ensure safe, reliable controls solutions.
