Job summary

Motive Offshore Group in Aberdeen is seeking a Contracts Specialist who will review, draft, and negotiate a wide range of commercial contracts and subcontracts, ensuring compliance and mitigating risk across global operations.

Reporting to the Head of Contracts, you will work closely with Buyers, Sales, and Technical teams to develop robust contracting strategies, maintain templates, and drive best practices across the group.

Qualifications

• Experience in a Contract Specialist or Subcontract Specialist role.
• Strong commercial and contractual understanding with ability to identify risks.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong negotiation and influencing skills.
• Ability to interpret contractual terms and provide clear commercial advice.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks.
• Analytical ability to perform research tasks.
• Proficient in Word and Excel.
• Well organised and capable under time constraints.
• Ability to collaborate with internal stakeholders across functions.

Responsibilities

• Review, draft and negotiate a wide range of commercial agreements.
• Review, draft and negotiate standalone subcontractor agreements and flow down obligations.
• Develop subcontracting strategies with Buyers, Sales and Technical teams.
• Provide clear advice on contract terms to resolve disputes.
• Create and refine Motive’s contract templates to streamline processes.
• Support development and negotiation of strategic framework agreements with key clients.
• Collaborate with bid/tender teams to understand contractual risks and create risk profiles.
• Negotiate variations / change requests and identify risks or opportunities.
• Serve as the point of contact for clients and suppliers on contractual matters.
• Monitor contracts for compliance and emerging risks.
• Support contract close-out activities and capture lessons learned.
• Promote consistency in contractual practices across regions.
• Maintain accurate contract records in the CLM system.
• Stay updated on industry standards and legal changes.
• Participate in contracts training.
• Provide support to Head of Contracts and Contracts Manager.
• Adopt Motive People Values in daily work.
• Lead by example in promoting HSEQ and Net Zero objectives.
• Develop and maintain understanding of Motive's product and service offering to support effective contractual and commercial decision-making.
