Job summary

Gibson Dunn, based in London, seeks a Senior Manager, Conflicts Attorneys (International) to lead the firm’s conflicts clearance outside the United States. You will mentor a growing team, handle complex matters, and ensure cross-border compliance across European, Middle Eastern, and Asian time zones.

You will partner with the Director and General Counsel, helping to shape policies, training, and technology for efficient global clearance.

Qualifications

• Substantial knowledge of conflict-of-interest principles under the professional conduct rules of England and Wales.
• Experience resolving conflicts of interest in a large international law firm environment.
• Experience leading a team of lawyers across multiple offices and time zones.
• Ability to advise partners and leadership on sensitive matters with sound judgment.
• Willingness to travel occasionally to other offices.
• Additional language skills relevant to international offices are advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Supervise conflicts attorneys outside the United States and coordinate coverage across time zones.
• Manage daily handover of the global clearance queue with the U.S. team.
• Mentor, train, and provide feedback to conflicts attorneys and analysts.
• Serve as senior escalation point for complex, novel, or high-sensitivity conflicts.
• Analyze conflict reports for new representations to ensure regulatory compliance.
• Draft waivers and information barrier memos for new clients and matters.
• Advise on multi-jurisdiction conduct rules and coordinate with U.S. team as needed.
• Monitor data protection implications of conflicts intake and retention of records.
