Job summary

Jacobs is seeking a Senior Associate Director in Bridges & Structures to shape design, assessment and delivery across major UK and international infrastructure programmes. The role focuses on technical leadership, guiding multidisciplinary teams, and applying digital, standardised approaches to improve quality and efficiency.

You will contribute across the project lifecycle—from feasibility to detailed design and reporting—while building client confidence and developing engineering capability

Qualifications

• Substantial experience in bridge or structural engineering within infrastructure, transportation or related environment.
• Strong design, project leadership or discipline management capability relevant to bridges and structures.
• Experience delivering structural engineering projects through feasibility, tender, preliminary and detailed design, assessment or renewal.
• Ability to clearly communicate technical risks, options and recommendations.
• Experience coordinating with clients, engineering disciplines and stakeholders to deliver integrated solutions.
• A relevant civil or structural engineering qualification or equivalent professional experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support multidisciplinary teams across UK and international programmes.
• Contribute across project lifecycle: structural analysis, feasibility, tender development, design, documentation and reporting.
• Introduce digital, automated and standardised approaches to improve quality and efficiency.
• Develop client relationships and help deliver technically robust and sustainable solutions.
• Support engineers through mentoring and project delivery to grow capability.
