Job summary

Taylor Root is seeking an Asset Finance / Shipping Finance Associate (2-5 PQE) for its London office. The role sits in the market-leading practice advising on large leasing, finance and capital markets transactions across maritime sectors.

You will draft and negotiate loan, lease, chartering and construction documentation, advise global clients, and work on cross-border, multi-jurisdictional financings with autonomy under senior partners.

Qualifications

• 2-5 years’ post-qualification experience in shipping, offshore, or broader asset finance.
• Strong drafting and commercial judgment for complex transactions.
• Excellent drafting, client advisory and project management skills.

Responsibilities

• Draft and negotiate loan, lease, chartering and construction documentation.
• Advise global clients on complex project structures and multi-jurisdictional financings.
• Deliver pragmatic solutions and take ownership of workstreams in a demanding team environment.
