Job summary

Crane Worldwide Logistics is seeking a Capacity Planning Manager to own the air freight network strategy, forecasting demand and securing the right mix of capacity across priority lanes. You will optimize resource use, coordinate with carriers and partners, and ensure compliance for high-value IT hardware shipments.

The role requires 5+ years in air freight planning or carrier management, strong forecasting, and negotiation skills, with experience across key trade lanes.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in air freight capacity planning, network planning, or carrier management.
• Fluency with industry mechanics: spot rates, GRIs, chargeable weight, load factor.
• Experience managing capacity across Asia Pacific, transpacific, or Asia–Europe lanes.
• Strong analytical and forecasting skills; comfortable building capacity models in Excel or BI tools.
• Track record negotiating directly with carriers, GSAs, or charter brokers.

Responsibilities

• Develop rolling capacity forecasts by lane and reconcile with project pipelines and available air cargo capacity.
• Negotiate and manage BSAs and allocation agreements with freighter operators and carriers across core lanes.
• Maintain relationships with charter brokers, GSAs, and ACMI providers to flex capacity for surge or out-of-gauge shipments.
• Monitor load factor, on-time performance, and capacity utilization; advise on rate exposure and timing.
• Ensure compliance with dangerous goods regulations and export controls; coordinate with customs on HS classification and documentation.
• Provide capacity visibility and input into quotes and project timelines; collaborate with finance on cost forecasting.
