Job summary

Cats Protection is seeking a Gift Aid Advisor to manage all aspects of the Gift Aid process, maintaining records in donor CRM and Retail CRM, and ensuring timely Gift Aid claims with HMRC. You will work with colleagues to uphold best practices in recording and processing Gift Aid and claims across fundraising activities.

The role sits in a team focused on supporter services, with responsibilities spanning memberships, donations and opt-ins, contributing to the charity’s mission to support cats

Qualifications

• Experience in a Gift Aid role, preferably within fundraising.
• Experience in office administration and maintaining recording systems.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; high accuracy.
• Proficient with Word, Excel, Outlook and CRM databases.

Responsibilities

• Be responsible for all aspects of the Gift Aid process, including maintenance of Gift Aid records in main donor CRM and Retail CRM.
• Ensure best practice in raising, recording, processing and claiming Gift Aid in collaboration with colleagues.

Team: Supporter Services
Location: Chelwood Gate, East Sussex (Hybrid working, approximately 2 days per week office based)
Work pattern: 35 hours, Monday to Friday
Salary: Up to £28,454.94 per annum
Contract: Fixed term until 31st December 2027

Responsibilities of our Gift Aid Advisor:

• The purpose of this role is to be responsible for all aspects of the Gift Aid process, from the maintenance of Gift Aid record keeping on the main donor CRM and the Retail CRM, to the timely and efficient claiming of Gift Aid on the donations received at Cats Protection from HMRC.
• You will work closely with colleagues to ensure that Cats Protection follows best practice in raising, recording, processing and claiming Gift Aid.

About the Supporter Services team:

• We sit within the Marketing & Income Generation directorate
• The Supporter Services team is part of the Cats Protection Marketing & Income Generation directorate. We answer queries from supporters about memberships, sponsorships, lotteries, raffles and donations. We also record and update the contact preferences of our supporters to ensure we only send communications which are wanted.
• The Supporter Services team is also responsible for the management of the Gift Aid scheme for Cats Protection, claiming money back from HMRC to provide much needed assistance to the many cats and kittens in need of help. We look to provide the best service possible to our supporters, although we never stop striving to improve this service.

What we’re looking for in our Gift Aid Advisor:

• Experience of working in a Gift Aid role, preferably within a fundraising environment
• Experience of office administration, maintaining recording systems and procedures
• Working or volunteering in a fundraising environment
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
• IT literate - proficient with Word, Excel and Outlook and CRM databases
