Job summary

University Hospitals Sussex NHS Foundation Trust invites applications for an Advanced Clinical Practitioner (HCPC/RGN) to join the GI Faster Diagnosis team, leading clinical triage and review of GI referrals on the 2-week suspected cancer pathway. The role requires autonomous decision-making, expert nursing care, and collaboration with multi-professional teams.

Training is provided to support MSc in Advanced Practice and progression to consultant-led pathways.

Qualifications

• Registered practitioner with NMC or HCPC.
• Willing to undertake MSc in Advanced Practice.
• Evidence of leadership and advanced assessment capabilities.
• Prescribing training or willingness to undertake non-medical prescribing.

Responsibilities

• Provide specialist nursing care and support for GI patients.
• Deliver evidence-based patient care aligned with changing needs.
• Offer expert advice in specialist area with evidence-based practice.
• Work autonomously with advanced clinical judgment in planning and evaluating care.
