Job summary
The Methodist Church in Britain is seeking an experienced consultant in geriatric medicine to lead frailty-focused care for older people on acute wards and in the Frailty Assessment Unit at Doncaster Royal Infirmary, with cross-site work across Bassetlaw and Mexborough. You will lead and teach residents and ACPs, develop movement disorders services, and participate in service planning and governance.
MRCP or equivalent and GMC specialist registration are required, with potential involvement in
Qualifications
- MRCP or equivalent is required.
- Interest in movement disorders.
- GMC Specialist registration in Geriatric Medicine or within 6 months of appointment.
Responsibilities
- Provide frailty-focused medical care for older people on acute inpatient wards and in the Frailty Assessment Unit.
- Develop and deliver Comprehensive Geriatric Assessment for frail and complex patients.
- Lead movement disorders and geriatric medicine services across inpatient wards, Frailty Assessment Unit and outpatient clinics.
- Work on movement disorders services across Doncaster, Bassetlaw and Mexborough.
- Support safe and timely discharge to avoid unnecessary hospital stays.
- Contribute to quality improvement, governance and service development.
