Job summary

Doncaster and Bassetlaw Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Consultant in Geriatric Medicine with a special interest in Movement Disorders to lead and develop services across inpatient wards, Frailty Assessment Unit and outpatient clinics. The post may involve cross-site work at Bassetlaw and Mexborough Hospitals.

The Successful applicant will provide frailty-focused medical care, develop CGA for complex patients, and oversee education and multidisciplinary teams while driving

Qualifications

• Specialist Consultant in Geriatric Medicine with an interest in Movement Disorders.
• Lead Movement Disorders and Geriatric Medicine services across inpatient wards, Frailty Assessment Unit, and outpatient clinics.
• Support education and training for residents, ACPs and medical students.

Responsibilities

• Provide frailty-focused medical care across acute inpatient wards.
• Develop Comprehensive Geriatric Assessment (CGA) for frail patients.
• Ensure safe, timely discharge to avoid unnecessary hospital stays.
• Develop Movement Disorders services across Doncaster, Bassetlaw and Mexborough.
• Promote high-quality care and a safe working culture.
• Contribute to quality improvement, governance and service development.
