Job summary

Infocus Resources is seeking a Site/Geotechnical Assistant to assist in preparing drawings, updating quality plans and supporting site safety and inspections. The role involves supporting drilling, grouting, and anchoring activities with a focus on accurate documentation and QA processes.

The candidate will have Level 3+ qualifications, experience with GPS/Total Station, and CSCS White AQP. Weekend work on a rota is possible to meet project needs.

Qualifications

  • Academic requirement: Level 3 or higher (HNC/HND or degree).
  • Familiar with survey equipment (GPS, Total Station) for setting out and surveying.
  • Experience in geotechnical applications such as drilling, grouting, anchor installation, inspection and testing.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in preparing as-built drawings and updating the Project Quality Plan.
  • Develop quality check sheets and carry out quality checks and surveys.
  • Assist with site safety, environmental and quality inspections.
  • Help manage systems to track progress by time, quality, dimensions and quantity.
  • Record and test workmanship and materials (drilling, grouting, anchoring).
  • Provide engineering support to resolve technical queries.

Job description

Due to the sensitive nature of the site, BPSS security clearance is required. Please note that this process can take up to 8 weeks.

Eligibility criteria: Many positions within the project are subject to national security clearance restrictions. This means that your eligibility for certain roles may be affected by your place of birth, nationality, current or former citizenship, and any residency you hold or have held.

Key Responsibilties
  • Assist in the preparation of as-built drawings.
  • Assist in establishing effective systems to record work completed updating the Project Quality Plan accordingly.
  • Participate in developing quality check sheets and carrying quality checks & surveys.
  • Assisting with site safety, environmental & quality inspections
  • To assist in managing systems to enable the progress of work to be reviewed against time, quality, dimensions, and quantity.
  • Assist in the recording and testing of workmanship and materials, i.e., drilling, grouting & anchoring etc.
  • Assist in providing engineering support to ensure technical problems are overcome and technical queries are answered.
  • Responsible for setting out works constructed within allowable tolerances, from a provided site control.
  • Completing Daily Diaries, keeping trackers up to date, and maintain drawning register
  • Assist in procurement of site materials and equipment.
  • Ensures workforce understand setting out information has been identified as suitable for the type of work being carried out.
  • Assist in the preparation of sketches for distribution on site, ensuring clear communication channels are in place for effective communication.
  • To be aware of the provisions of the KierBam Safety, Health, and Environmental Management System and to assist in its implementation to ensure a safe working environment.
Role Requirements
  • Academic Qualification (Level 3, or above ie HNC,HND, Degree)
  • Familiar in Survey equipment (GPS, Total Station,) for Setting Out & Survey
  • Experience in various geotechnical applications such as drilling, grouting, anchor installation, inspection and testing is essential.
  • Awareness of commercial processes, Quality Management System and familiar in writing RAMS.
  • Flexible to working weekends and out of hours (on a rota basis to suit project requirements)
  • Supervisor HSE test, CSCS - White AQP Card
Desirable
  • TWS or TWC
  • First Aid at Work
  • SSSTS
  • Experience in geotechnical projects
  • Nuclear experience
  • May be working towards Chartership/Incorporation with ICE or other appropriate professional body
