Job summary

BAM UK & Ireland is seeking a Geotechnical or Section Geotechnical Engineer with significant experience to lead the delivery of geotechnical works across projects in the South of the UK. The role is primarily site-based, with travel and living away from home as required, and based at Godstone or Nailsea offices.

You will plan, supervise, and ensure safe, high-quality delivery, maintain HSQE documentation, and build strong relationships with clients and the supply chain.

Qualifications

• Required – Experience delivering geotechnical works, management and supervision of project teams, documentation writing, and communication at all levels.
• Preferred – RoGEP, Professional Membership, CSCS card, SMSTS, First Aid at Work, PTS

Responsibilities

• Maintain open lines of communication with the Geotechnical team regarding project progress.
• Write and maintain HSQE documentation.
• Supervise and manage safe, efficient delivery of geotechnical works to an excellent technical standard.
• Develop and maintain relationships with Client, supply chain and third parties.
• Ensure high personal safety and environmental standards on site.

BAM UK & Ireland require a Geotechnical or Section Geotechnical Engineer with significant experience to join the Ground Engineering business unit. As a Geotechnical or Section Geotechnical Engineer you will be planning and leading the safe, technically excellent delivery of geotechnical works on a varying range of projects across the South of the UK. You will be based at either our Godstone or Nailsea site offices (work in other areas may be required from time to time). This is predominately a site-based role that will require travel and living away from home as required.

As Geotechnical /Section Geotechnical Engineer, you will be responsible for the following:

• Maintain open lines of communication with the Geotechnical team regarding the progress of the project and relevant developments
• Writing and maintaining of HSQE documentation
• Supervision & management of the safe, efficient delivery of geotechnical works’ to an excellent technical standard
• Develop and maintain a strong relationship with the Client, the supply chain and third parties
• Maintain high levels of personal safety and environmental standards, implementing safe systems of work on site
• Accurate record keeping for site activities, and short term forecasting of resources on a project basis
• Awareness of project and business goals and able to relay these to the project team to increase workforce engagement with business
