Job summary

BAM UK & Ireland is seeking a Geotechnical/Section Geotechnical Engineer to support the redevelopment project at a Royal Navy site in Plymouth. You will ensure technical compliance with design specs, manage HSQE documentation, and supervise geotechnical works to high standards.

Security clearance (BPSS) is required and NATO/MISWG passport holders with UK residence for 5 years are eligible. You will build strong client and supply-chain relationships while promoting safety and sustainability.

• Experience in delivering geotechnical works and managing project teams; documentation writing and strong communication at all levels.

Responsibilities

• Maintain open lines of communication with the Geotechnical team regarding project progress and developments.
• Write and maintain HSQE documentation.
• Supervise and manage the safe, efficient delivery of geotechnical works to a high technical standard.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with the Client, the supply chain and third parties.
• Maintain high safety and environmental standards with safe systems of work on site.
• Accurate record keeping for site activities and short-term resource forecasting.
• Relay project and business goals to the project team to boost workforce engagement.

KierBAM are a Joint Venture (JV) partnership between Kier and BAM UK & Ireland - BAM UK & Ireland's infrastructure segment is currently delivering the redevelopment project at a Royal Navy site located in Plymouth and are seeking an experienced Geotechnical or Section Geotechnical Engineer to assist the Engineer in managing the technical compliance of the project to the design specification to fulfil the assigned project (or section) safely, on time and to the required quality.

Due to the sensitive nature of the site, BPSS security clearance is required. Please note that this process can take up to 8 weeks.

Eligibility criteria: Candidates must hold a passport from a NATO or MISWG member country and have resided in the UK for the past 5 years.

Making Possible

As Geotechnical /Section Geotechnical Engineer, you will be responsible for the following:

• Maintain open lines of communication with the Geotechnical team regarding the progress of the project and relevant developments
• Writing and maintaining of HSQE documentation
• Supervision & management of the safe, efficient delivery of geotechnical works’ to an excellent technical standard
• Develop and maintain a strong relationship with the Client, the supply chain and third parties
• Maintain high levels of personal safety and environmental standards, implementing safe systems of work on site
• Accurate record keeping for site activities, and short term forecasting of resources on a project basis
• Awareness of project and business goals and able to relay these to the project team to increase workforce engagement with business

• Required – Experience in delivering geotechnical works’, competence at management and supervision of project teams, documentation writing, communication skills both written and verbal at all levels
• Preferred – RoGEP, Professional Membership, CSCS card, SMSTS, First Aid at Work, PTS
