Job summary

BAM UK & Ireland is seeking a Geotechnical or Section Geotechnical Engineer with significant experience to join the Ground Engineering team. This site-based role will deliver geotechnical works across projects in the South of the UK, with travel and living away from home as required.

Based at Godstone or Nailsea, you will lead project teams, write HSQE documentation, manage safety on site and develop strong client and supply-chain relationships while maintaining high technical standards.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering geotechnical works and supervising project teams.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to write HSQE documentation and maintain records.

Responsibilities

• Maintain open lines of communication with the Geotechnical team regarding project progress and developments.
• Writing and maintaining HSQE documentation.
• Supervision and management of the safe, efficient delivery of geotechnical works to a high technical standard.
• Develop and maintain relationships with the Client, supply chain and third parties.
• Maintain personal safety and environmental standards on site and implement safe systems of work.
• Accurate record keeping for site activities and short-term resource forecasting.
• Relay project goals to the team to increase engagement.

BAM UK & Ireland require a Geotechnical or Section Geotechnical Engineer with significant experience to join the Ground Engineering business unit. As a Geotechnical or Section Geotechnical Engineer you will be planning and leading the safe, technically excellent delivery of geotechnical works on a varying range of projects across the South of the UK. You will be based at either our Godstone or Nailsea site offices (work in other areas may be required from time to time). This is predominately a site-based role that will require travel and living away from home as required.

As Geotechnical /Section Geotechnical Engineer, you will be responsible for the following:

• Maintain open lines of communication with the Geotechnical team regarding the progress of the project and relevant developments


• Writing and maintaining of HSQE documentation


• Supervision & management of the safe, efficient delivery of geotechnical works to an excellent technical standard


• Develop and maintain a strong relationship with the Client, the supply chain and third parties


• Maintain high levels of personal safety and environmental standards, implementing safe systems of work on site


• Accurate record keeping for site activities, and short term forecasting of resources on a project basis


• Awareness of project and business goals and able to relay these to the project team to increase workforce engagement with business

What do you bring to the role?

Required Experience in delivering geotechnical works, competence at management and supervision of project teams, documentation writing, communication skills both written and verbal at all levels

Preferred RoGEP, Professional Membership, CSCS card, SMSTS, First Aid at Work, PTS
