Robert Bird Group in the UK Birmingham is seeking an Associate Geotechnical Engineer to lead technically robust design across complex buildings and infrastructure projects. You will work with Directors to shape geotechnical strategies, lead multidisciplinary teams and provide guidance on deep basements, foundations and ground movement in dense urban environments.
The role emphasizes client relationships, mentoring engineers and delivering commercial outcomes.
Competenze
- Bachelor level degree in Civil Engineering; MSc Geotechnical Engineering preferred.
- Chartered or near-chartered with ICE or Geological Society.
- Strong experience with PLAXIS 2D/3D and numerical tools; leadership and client delivery.
Mansioni
- Lead geotechnical design for deep basements, foundations, retaining structures and ground-movement assessments.
- Oversee ground investigations; prepare and review technical reports.
- Deliver advanced numerical modelling (PLAXIS, GeoStudio, WALLAP, Repute, Oasys).
- Mentor engineers; support business development and client engagement.
