Job summary

Anglian Water Services is seeking a Geotechnical Engineer (Geophysicist) to support the Strategic Pipeline Alliance in Peterborough. The role blends field investigations with geophysical analysis, reporting, and collaboration across geotechnical teams. It is initially site-based with hybrid flexibility.

The position requires MSc level geophysics experience, expertise in field techniques, processing software, and strong communication to convey complex results to stakeholders.

Qualifications

• MSc or equivalent geophysical degree.
• Demonstrable field experience with geophysical methods (shallow seismic, electrical, EM, magnetic).
• Experience with geophysics processing software and GIS visualization tools.
• Strong communication skills and ability to present findings to non-geophysicists.

Responsibilities

• Undertake desk studies and GI site supervision.
• Check Factual Report and produce Interpretative report.
• Collaborate with lead teams to ensure deliverables are checked and approved.
• Travel and field assignments, supervising GI contractors for quality.
• Ensure design safety principles are incorporated.
