We have an opportunity for a Geotechnical Engineer or Senior Geotechnical Engineer, ideally located in the South East to support our portfolio of prestigious geotechnical projects in the UK and internationally. We are expanding to meet growing client demand in infrastructure (rail, highways & water) and the energy sector (carbon capture & storage, renewable energy, low carbon engineering and nuclear power).

Your purpose:

  • The successful applicant will be a Geotechnical Engineer or Senior Geotechnical Engineer with a degree in civil engineering with a post graduate qualification in a geotechnical subject and hold or be close to holding chartered status with the ICE.
  • Candidates should have the drive and ability to develop and expand our geotechnical capability by building on the existing portfolio of our expanding, flexible, outward-looking team that can tackle work across a broad spectrum of sectors.

What you can bring:

  • A good academic background with a civil engineering degree and ideally MSc or equivalent.
  • In-depth experience in finite element modelling and analysis (e.g., PLAXIS 2D/3D). Familiar with general numerical software such as Geostudio, Repute, Wallap, etc.
  • Chartered status or nearing Chartered status. Proven experience in a fast-moving engineering consultancy environment.
  • Project management experience and understanding of the needs and approaches to the engineering consultancy and design markets. Proven geotechnical design experience.
  • Application of CDM Regulations in a design and ground investigation environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal and technical skills with the ability to develop and lead geotechnical design teams. Strong communication skills and confidence to liaise with clients.
  • Good commercial track record in negotiating and running successful projects.
  • Excellent report writing skills with the ability to self-check and produce accurate work. Willingness to travel on short assignments within the UK and overseas.
  • A valid UK driving licence. Preference for working from the Epsom office.
