Job summary

The Geotechnical Sub Alliance (GSA) is seeking a Construction Manager for geotechnical works on the Sizewell C nuclear power station project in the UK. You will oversee site operations, mobilise staff and plant, and ensure safe and efficient delivery across multiple sites.

You will work closely with project teams to ensure right equipment, skilled operatives, and adherence to procedures, with a strong focus on Zero Harm and quality outcomes.

Qualifications

• CPCS qualification at Manager & Professionals level.
• Strong ability to manage conflict and negotiate.
• Excellent communication skills across organisational levels.
• Knowledge of Health and Safety Management.
• Understanding of training requirements within the BMS.
• Understanding of piling and diaphragm wall techniques.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all site activities including logistics, temporary works, plant and people interface to ensure safe execution of the works.
• Manage the programme for the deployment of site staff and plant to the projects.
• Build relationships with project departments to ensure timely provision of fit-for-purpose plant and tools.
• Ensure all on-site work complies with work procedures and the BMS.
• Coordinate with all projects in the area to provide the right quantity, quality and skills mix of operatives.
• Develop and coach site teams to maximise competence.
• Collaborate with operations, preconstruction, commercial, plant, resource, QA and design for efficient project delivery.
• Ensure adherence to the Management System through support and audits.
• Promote a relentless focus on Zero Harm on site.
