AEPartners UK seeks a Construction Manager for Geotechnical Works to lead on-site operations at Sizewell C. You will manage logistics, temporary works, and plant interfaces, driving safe, efficient delivery with a strong safety culture.

The role requires CPCS Managers & Professionals level certification, effective communication across teams, and experience in large infrastructure schemes. A salary uplift and subsistence are included for this nuclear project.

Qualifications

  • Clear customer focus and drive; ambition.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels and externally.
  • Knowledge of Health and Safety Management.
  • Experience delivering major infrastructure projects.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee all site activities with Project Manager, including logistics, temporary works, plant and people interfaces, ensuring safe execution.
  • Manage the programme for deployment of site staff and plant to projects.
  • Coordinate with project departments to ensure timely delivery of fit-for-purpose plant and tools.
  • Ensure compliance with work procedures and the Building Management System (BMS).
  • Develop and coach site teams to meet deliverables and drive Zero Harm on site.

The Geotechnical Sub Alliance (GSA) is at the forefront of the Sizewell C nuclear power station development - one of the UK’s largest and most exciting infrastructure programmes.


We’re responsible for preparing the foundations of the entire site: designing and constructing cut‑off walls, retaining structures, soil improvements and more. Using advanced geotechnical engineering and world‑class construction technologies, this is a rare opportunity to contribute to a national project that will shape the UK’s clean‑energy future.


The Role

Responsible for the efficient running and resourcing of site operations in order to support the work of the project to achieve excellence in safety, quality, sustainability and efficiency. Ensure that the process strategy and in particular the culture and its impact on project delivery is clearly communicated understood by site staff teams.


What You'll Be Doing


  • Work with the Project Manager to oversee all site activities including logistics, temporary works, plant and people interface to ensure safe execution of the works

  • Manage the programme for the deployment of site staff and plant to the projects

  • Build a good working relationship with the various project departments to ensure that the correct plant and tools are selected and delivered to the project sites in a timely manner and that they are fit for purpose

  • Ensure that all work carried out on site is in strict compliance with the work procedures and the BMS

  • Partner all projects within the area of responsibility to ensure the right quantity, quality and skills mix of operatives are provided within agreed timelines – both at site set up and during the full life cycle of the project

  • Ensure apprentices and workforce are fully developed to maximise their competence

  • Work closely with the whole process team (to include operations, preconstruction, commercial, plant, resource, QA and design), to ensure an effective and efficient project delivery

  • Ensure that all the operations team comply with the Management System through support and audit

  • Manage, develop and coach site teams to ensure that deliverables are met

  • Ensure a relentless focus on Zero Harm


What We’re Looking For

The following qualities/experience are essential:



  • Minimum of Managers & Professionals level CPCS Qualification

  • Clear customer focus

  • Clear drive and ambition

  • Ability to effectively manage conflict and negotiation

  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with people at all levels across the organisation and externally

  • Knowledge of Health and Safety Management

  • Experience in delivering major infrastructure projects

  • Knowledge of training requirements within the BMS

  • Understanding of piling and diaphragm wall techniques


The following qualities/experience are desirable:



  • Project Management qualification

  • Strong computer skills - focused on Excel / Word / PowerPoint and ideally and ideally conversant with other software, e.g. MS Project

  • Previous management experience in a similar Geotechnical environment

  • Experience of working with a on-site workforce
