Job summary

The Oldham Academy North, part of E-ACT, is seeking an Assistant Head of Geography to lead curriculum development, monitor standards and support staff to raise attainment across all year groups.

You will work with the Head of Geography to shape a high-quality curriculum, lead quality assurance activities such as observations and learning walks, and coach colleagues to share best practice within a supportive, ambitious academy.

Qualifications

• QTS with relevant degree and strong Geography knowledge.
• Proven ability to deliver high-quality teaching and secure student progress.
• Strong leadership and organisational skills to motivate and develop colleagues.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Skilled in analysing student performance data to drive improvement.

Responsibilities

• Support leadership and development of the Geography department, driving high standards in teaching and learning.
• Monitor student progress using data to identify priorities and improve outcomes.
• Contribute to the design and development of an ambitious Geography curriculum.
• Support quality assurance activities including observations and learning walks.
• Coach colleagues to share best practice and contribute to school-wide improvement.
