E-ACT The Oldham Academy North seeks an Assistant Head of Geography to lead curriculum innovation, raise attainment, and develop staff within a thriving 11-16 academy in Oldham. You will work with the Head of Geography to drive strategic improvements and deliver high standards of teaching and learning.

The role offers a clear pathway for leadership, with responsibilities covering curriculum development, QA activities, pupil achievement and staff development within a supportive, ambitious trust.

Qualifications

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with a relevant degree and strong geography knowledge.
• Proven ability to deliver high-quality teaching that secures student progress.
• Strong leadership and organisational skills to motivate and support colleagues.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with students, parents and staff.
• Skilled in analysing student performance data to drive improvement.

Responsabilités

• Support leadership and development of the Geography department to drive high standards of teaching, learning and student achievement.
• Monitor student progress and attainment, using data to identify priorities and improve outcomes.
• Contribute to design, implementation and development of an ambitious Geography curriculum.
• Support quality assurance activities including observations, learning walks and work scrutiny.
• Coach and collaborate with colleagues to share best practices and support whole-school improvement.
