Job summary

PWS Technical Services (UK) Ltd is recruiting a Geotechnical Engineer / Geo-Environmental Engineer to join an experienced team delivering ground investigation services across civil infrastructure sectors.

The role combines site, office and home working, requires a degree in Geology or related field, experience in ground investigation techniques, reporting, health and safety, and the ability to manage multiple projects to tight deadlines, with a consultative engineering approach.

Qualifications

• A degree in Geology, Civil Engineering, Earth Sciences or a related subject.
• Possess previous practical or relevant experience, post-graduation.
• Knowledge of ground investigation techniques and BS5930.
• Experience with relevant data management software packages.
• IT competent in Microsoft packages, and the ability to work independently or with a team.
• Ability to work effectively to deadlines and under pressure.
• Good attention to detail and accuracy of work, effective planning and organisation skills.
• A structured approach to problem solving, with excellent written and verbal communication.
• Awareness of the relevant industry legal and safety regulations.
• Able to produce factual or interpretive reports.

Responsibilities

• Analyse findings and translate data into well-documented reports for pre-contract and project teams.
• Undertake ground investigations, in-situ testing and sampling per BS5930/Eurocode 7.
• Manage site operatives and subcontractors and coordinate intrusive investigations.
• Produce reports based on site information, ground conditions and project requirements.
• Ensure compliance with HSEQ policies and project timelines.
