Job summary

Stantec is seeking an enthusiastic early-career Geoenvironmental Consultant to join our infrastructure and environment team in Cardiff. The role combines field-based investigations with office-based reporting, with an initial emphasis on site work and supervision of drilling, sampling and ground gas monitoring.

You will prepare interpretive technical reports and liaise with subcontractors and clients, applying knowledge of BS EN 5930, NHBC standards, and health and safety best practices.

Qualifications

• Post-graduate experience in geo-environmental industry.
• Experience with Contractor or geotechnical/Geoenvironmental work desired.
• Knowledge of BS EN 5930, EA guidance, NHBC Standards.
• Supervision of geo-environmental assignments.
• Monitoring gas and groundwater levels and sampling.
• Liaison with sub-contractors and clients on projects.
• Technical report writing including Desk Studies.
• Commitment to Health and Safety and environmental protection.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Full UK Driving Licence.
• Cat and Genny training.
• First Aid training.

Responsibilities

• Supervise field investigations for contaminated and geotechnical sites.
• Oversee drilling, well construction, testing and groundwater sampling.
• Monitor groundwater levels and ground gas on site.
• Prepare interpretive technical reports and liaise with clients/sub-contractors.
• Balance site and office work over time, initial workload site-based.
