Job summary

Regional Recruitment Ltd is seeking an Assistant Geo-environmental Consultant / Engineering Geologist for Northamptonshire/Leicester. The role combines field and office work, from site walkovers to remediation verification, with a starting salary around £29,000–£30,000 DOE.

Permanent, full-time with hybrid working (3 days in the office after probation), flexitime, generous annual leave, pension, wellbeing support, training and professional membership funding.

Qualifications

• Degree in Environmental Science or Geology.
• Minimum 1 year’s relevant industry experience.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Experience writing Phase I reports.
• Understanding contamination assessments from Stage 1 Tier 1 through to Stage 3.
• Experience of geo-environmental and geotechnical site work.
• Experience of soil and rock logging in accordance with BS5930.
• Good communication skills.
• Competent with basic software including MS Office.
• Strong critical thinking for interpretation and reporting.

Responsibilities

• Support field and office-based work across environmental and geotechnical projects.
• Work on projects from site walkovers through to verification of remedial works.
• Assist with site assessments and investigations.
• Undertake geo-environmental and geotechnical site work.
• Assist with soil and rock logging.
• Help prepare Phase I reports and other technical documentation.
• Contribute to contamination assessments.
• Support preparation of technical reports and project documentation.
• Collaborate with colleagues across the multidisciplinary team.
• Contribute to successful project outcomes.
