Job summary

The Ellison Institute, LLC is seeking an experienced Event Delivery and Genotyping Manager within the Plant Biology Institute in Oxford to lead molecular event confirmation and genotyping strategy for gene-edited and transgenic crops.

You will coordinate transformation, tissue culture and data teams, establish stage-gate criteria, manage external providers, and deliver robust data packages to downstream trait and product teams, enabling rapid crop development.

Qualifications

• PhD or MSc with significant industry experience in plant biotechnology or related fields.
• Proven expertise in genotyping technologies for gene edited or transgenic crops.
• Experience designing and interpreting molecular assays for event confirmation.
• Strong project management and cross-functional collaboration.
• Experience with ELN/LIMS and data integrity practices.

Responsibilities

• Lead the end-to-end event delivery workflow from transformation through plant recovery and sampling.
• Design, validate and implement genotyping assays for transgenic and gene-edited events.
• Coordinate sample collection, DNA extraction, and data return with internal and external partners.
• Manage external vendors, ensuring quality, budget and timely delivery.
• Develop SOPs, QC checklists and data interpretation guides.
• Train scientists and technicians in genotyping workflows and event criteria.
