The Ellison Institute of Technology (EIT) seeks a highly motivated Scientist in Molecular Biology to join a transformative plant biotechnology program. You will design experiments, build gene libraries, and advance stage-gated milestones across lab teams.

You will contribute to publications, IP, and translate results into commercial opportunities while collaborating with AI, automation and biology experts to scale research to real-world impact.

Qualifications

• PhD with >5 years postdoc in plant molecular biology in industry or academia.
• Experience designing gene libraries for discovery, trait engineering and genomics.
• Hands-on transformation and screening in plant cells or whole plants.
• Expertise in Golden Gate, Gateway, Gibson Assembly and modular DNA assemblies.
• Experience with NGS-based library QC and pooled-screen analysis.

Responsibilities

• Design and execute experiments aligned with stage-gated milestones.
• Contribute to publications and IP generation in plant biotech.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to apply cutting-edge techniques.
• Present work at seminars and external meetings; mentor group members.
• Translate research into commercial opportunities aligned with EIT's mission.
