Job summary

The Ellison Institute of Technology (EIT) Plant Biology Institute in Oxford is recruiting an experienced Vector Design Manager to lead design, build strategy, QC and release of transformation vectors and genome editing reagents for gene edited crops.

You will translate trait objectives into high-throughput vector designs, ensure robustness, and align with commercial and regulatory expectations while collaborating across multiple teams.

Qualifications

• PhD in Plant Biotechnology, Molecular Biology, Genetics, Genomics, Crop Science or related field, or MSc with significant industry experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead vector design strategy for gene edited and transgenic crops.
• Translate biology and transformation requirements into vector designs.
• Ensure constructs are robust, traceable and compliant with regulatory needs.
• Manage DNA synthesis, cloning, sequencing and QC workflows.
• Collaborate with event delivery, genotyping and regulatory teams.
• Develop SOPs and documentation for reproducible vector delivery.
