Job summary

The Royal Marsden NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Medical Technical Officer to support the Clinical Genomics service in the Sutton-based Centre for Molecular Pathology. The role involves performing analytical molecular diagnostics, including NGS, fragment analysis and ddPCR, for haematological and solid tumours, while training junior staff and maintaining high data standards.

The successful candidate will work within an ISO 15189 accredited environment, ensuring quality, audits and equipment

Qualifications

• Analytical molecular diagnostics investigations including NGS, fragment analysis, ddPCR and gene expression analysis.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team to meet performance targets.
• Excellent IT literacy and data management skills related to the service.
• Commitment to quality and ISO 15189 accreditation compliance.

Responsibilities

• Carry out analytical molecular diagnostics investigations with minimal supervision.
• Train junior team members and visitors as required.
• Support quality activities, audits and equipment maintenance.
• Assist in data management and reporting of technical results.
