The Royal Marsden NHS Foundation Trust in Sutton, London, is seeking a Medical Technical Officer to strengthen the Clinical Genomics service. You will contribute to ISO 15189 accredited testing, performing complex molecular diagnostics and helping train junior staff in a high-quality, patient-focused environment.

Based in a state-of-the-art Centre for Molecular Pathology, you will work with next-generation sequencing, ddPCR, and other assays while ensuring safe, efficient laboratory operations

Competenze

• BSc in Biological Sciences, Genetics, or related discipline.
• Basic understanding of DNA/RNA and molecular genetics.
• Awareness of health & safety and COSHH procedures in labs.
• Understanding of UKAS, IQA/EQA standards.

Mansioni

• To be responsible for own work, including clinical scientific and technical duties.
• Carry out analytical molecular diagnostics investigations with minimal supervision.
• Support training of junior staff and visitors and manage data related to the service.
• Ensure quality system compliance, equipment maintenance, audits, and SOP preparation.
• Work across department areas on a rotational basis.
