Job summary

Basecamp Research in London is seeking a Bioinformatics Scientist to join the Genomics team. You will turn vast, heterogeneous biological data into annotated, trustworthy resources for model development.

We are building the Trillion Gene Atlas and other large-scale datasets, requiring you to develop methods that label and mine biology never before characterized, ensuring data is machine-readable and model-ready for downstream AI applications.

Qualifications

• PhD preferred in a relevant life sciences field.
• Experience curating large biological datasets for model training.
• Ability to build or adapt tools when existing ones fail.

Responsibilities

• Analyse diverse biological data to produce model-ready datasets.
• Develop methods to label and mine complex data.
• Design schemas for non-standard biology data and benchmark improvements.
• Prototype methods and validate on real, messy data at scale.
• Integrate newer ML methods where beneficial and ensure data provenance.
