Basecamp Research is recruiting a Senior Bioinformatics Scientist to join our Genomics team in London. You will shape data requirements for our EDEN models, define what constitutes good data, and validate the success of foundational models through rigorous evidence and evaluation.

You will work with deep-learning modelling, engineering, and translational teams, focusing on data curation, ground-truthing, and provenance to ensure robust, reproducible research that translates into therapies.

Qualifications

• Experience curating data for life-science AI.
• Strong bioinformatics foundation in sequence informatics and standard toolchain.
• Proven ability to develop reproducible pipelines and document provenance.

Responsabilités

• Define data requirements for models and evaluate data quality.
• Design robust evaluations, metrics, baselines, and failure analyses.
• Fine-tune or guide genomic/protein models and ensure dataset decisions improve model performance.
• Reason about biological meaning from data across evolution to human therapeutic contexts.
• Develop analyses using sequence alignment, annotation and evolutionary approaches.
• Maintain reproducibility and traceability across datasets and workflows.
