Job summary

Pro-Drive is seeking an Ad-Hoc General Operative / Van Driver. The role covers orders preparation, loading/unloading, and driving to multiple clients across Staffordshire, Cheshire and Derbyshire. Usually flexible, with ad-hoc shifts and multi-client travel.

You will perform both operative and driving duties, handle deliveries, and maintain safety during loading, transport, and unloading while adhering to client schedules.

Ad-Hoc General Operative / Van Driver

Location: Staffordshire, Cheshire & Derbyshire

Pay Rate: From £13.00 per hour, with higher rates available depending on the client

We are looking for reliable, flexible and hardworking Ad-Hoc General Operatives / Van Drivers to join our team.

This is a varied role working across multiple clients and locations throughout Staffordshire, Cheshire and Derbyshire. The ideal candidate will be comfortable and willing to undertake both general operative and van driving duties, with assignments varying depending on client requirements.

The Role

• Picking, packing and preparing orders for dispatch
• Loading and unloading vehicles
• Moving and handling goods safely
• Driving company vans for deliveries and collections
• Completing a mixture of multi-drop deliveries and longer-distance driving assignments
• Assisting with loading and unloading at customer sites
• Delivering goods safely and professionally to customers
• Completing delivery paperwork or electronic records as required
• Carrying out basic vehicle checks and reporting any issues
• Working to delivery schedules and client requirements
• General warehouse and operative duties
• Maintaining a safe, clean and organised working environment
• Working across different clients, locations and working environments as required

The Ideal Candidate

• Reliable, punctual and flexible
• Willing to work on an ad-hoc basis across multiple clients
• Happy to undertake both operative and driving duties
• Comfortable with manual handling, loading and unloading
• Confident driving a van for both multi-drop and long-distance journeys
• Able to adapt quickly to different clients, sites and working environments
• Professional, hardworking and customer-focused
• Able to work independently and as part of a team
• Holders of a full, valid UK driving licence
• Previous experience in van driving, logistics, warehouse or general operative work is advantageous
